Acne Conglobata
This kind is particularly rare but the occurrence may last for a very long time. It causes intense physical and emotional pain to the patient. This tends to be resistant with different prescription meds. Aggressive Accutane medication is the best way to get rid of it.
Acne Fulminans
This type of Acne is like Conglobata but is more sudden in its onset. This is associated with high fever and joint pain. Because of this, steroid therapy is the necessary remedy.
Acne Rosacea Fulminans (Pyoderma Faciale)
This occurs in women ages 20 to 40, even if they really do not have a history of severe acne breakout. Although its incidence may not last for a year or more, it has very negative side effects. Systemic antibiotic therapy is needed in this case.
Acne Inversa (Hidradenitis Suppurativa)
This is located in areas where acne does not really appear like the breasts, armpit area and the groin region. This appears as huge boils and abscesses which are extremely painful. This is very difficult to heal.
Gram Negative Folliculitis
Acne of this kind is not very common. Pustule and cysts may cover the affected region and will need aggressive antibiotic therapy.
